Deb 01 August 1924 vol 59 cc269-70
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY:

My Lords, I desire to put a question to the noble Lord opposite as to the exact course of business at the beginning of next week.

LORD MUIR MACKENZIE:

My Lords, it is proposed that on Monday the House should sit at 3.15 p.m., and that the principal business should be the Committee stage of the Housing Bill; that on Tuesday the House should again meet at 3.15 p.m., and that the next stages of the London Traffic Bill and the Agricultural Wages Bill should be taken, together with other business; and that on Wednesday the House should meet at twelve noon, and that Notice should be given on the Paper for the suspension of the Standing Orders, so that certainly the Agricultural Wages Bill may be completed, and probably also the Housing Bill. It is expected that there will be a Royal Commission on Wednesday evening, and that possibly the Adjournment of the House for the Recess may take place the same evening.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY:

That is possible, but I hope that the noble Lord and His Majesty s Government will not take it as settled that the House can adjourn before Thursday, That will depend upon how business gets through.

LORD MUIR MACKENZIE:

That is so.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY:

I am much obliged to the noble Lord.

House adjourned at four o'clock.
