My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved to resolve, That this House approves the following proposals with respect to travel expenses incurred by spouses and children of Members of this House on or after 10 November 2004—

  1. (1) The Resolution of 27 November 1996 is amended as follows.
  2. (2) In paragraph (1) after "spouse of a Member" insert "or by any child aged under 18 of a Member".

  3. (3) For paragraph (2) substitute—
  4. "(2) Claims under this Resolution as it applies to journeys made by any person may be made by a Member in relation to attendance by that person at no more than 6 Parliamentary occasions in any year (beginning with 1 January)."
  5. (4) In paragraph (3) after "spouse of a Member" insert "or by any child aged under 18 of a Member".—(Baroness Amos.)
