(1) In this Act "enactment" includes—

  1. (a) an enactment contained in this Act;
  2. (b) an enactment contained in a local, personal or private Act;

  3. (c) except in sections (Transfer, modification or abolition of functions by order) and 108, an enactment contained in subordinate legislation;
and any reference to an enactment includes a reference to an enactment whenever passed or made.

(2) In section 14 "enactment" also includes an enactment contained in, or in an instrument made under, Northern Ireland legislation.

(3) In Part 2 "enactment" also includes—

  1. (a) an enactment comprised in, or in an instrument made under, an Act of the Scottish Parliament;
  2. (b) an enactment contained in, or in an instrument made under, Northern Ireland legislation.

(4) In sections (Transfer, modification or abolition of junctions by order) and 108 and in paragraph 3 of Schedule (Protected functions of the Minister) "enactment" also includes—

  1. (a) an enactment contained in Northern Ireland legislation;
  2. (b) an enactment contained in a Measure of the Church Assembly or of the General Synod of the Church of England."

After Clause 106, insert the following new clause—
