Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe

My Lords, I refer briefly to paragraph 2, concerning the staff of the House. Will the Chairman of Committees confirm that all appropriate staff members of the House have proper contracts of employment?

The Chairman of Committees

My Lords, I am sorry but I did not catch the final words of the noble Lord, Lord Cocks.

Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe

My Lords, will the Chairman of Committees confirm that all the appropriate members of the House of Lords staff have proper contracts of employment?

The Chairman of Committees

My Lords, strictly speaking, I do not believe that question arises from the report of the Select Committee. I would—I assume safely—assume that they have indeed got that. If I am wrong, I will let the noble Lord, Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe, know.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
