§ 3.27 p.m.
§ Lord CarterMy Lords, it never stops! At a convenient time after 3.30 p.m. my noble friend the Leader of the House will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement that is to be made in another place on the European Council in Amsterdam. That will be followed by my noble friend Lord Donoughue, who will, again with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement on the common fisheries policy.
I wish to take this opportunity to remind the House that the Companion indicates that discussion on a Statement should not exceed 20 minutes from the end of the Minister's initial reply to the Opposition spokesmen and that contributions in the discussion should be confined to brief comments and questions for clarification.
