§ Baroness WilcoxMy Lords, I beg to move, That the Bill do now pass.
I am deeply grateful for the informed support that my modest Bill has received from all sides of your Lordships' House: for the support of my noble friend Lord Lucas on behalf of the Government; for the support of my noble friend Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, whose Shellfish Association of Great Britain and Fishmongers' Guild, have helped me at every turn; and for the support from the Front Benches Opposite of the noble Lord, Lord Carter, whose searching questions I have endeavoured to answer. I think that I did quite well, but I do not know where the question on the Road Traffic Act came from. I do not think that he knows, and nor do I. So I shall have to miss that one. My warmest thanks go the noble Lord, Lord Mackie of Benshie, whose knowledge of Scottish fishing problems and of local fishing communities added much to our debate.
I shall not take up much of your Lordships' time for such a little Bill but important new ground is broken here. It is important because it is a world-first breakthrough by MAFF scientists in rearing lobster juveniles which can be let loose to grow in the wild and breed successfully with existing and fast depleting lobster stocks and which will greatly contributed to the much needed transformation of our domestic fishing industry. Sea ranching and sea lagoons will all be a reality, thanks I hope to this Bill. I commend the Bill to the House.
Moved, That the Bill do now pass.—(Baroness Wilcox.)
§ On Question, Bill passed, and sent to the Commons.
