1 After Clause 1, insert the following new clause:

("Consequential repeals

—(1) Section 47 of the Laws in Wales Act 1542 (sale of stolen goods in a fair or market in Wales) is hereby repealed.

(2) In section 7(3) of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 (protection of fisheries for shellfish), the words "sold in market overt or" shall be omitted.'.Clause 2,

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the first of the Commons amendments on the Marshalled List. The amendment inserts a new clause after Clause 1. The new clause contains two new subsections in each of which there is a deletion of words within previous legislation which are unnecessary. The first subsection relates to the Laws in Wales Act 1542, Section 47 of which is repealed. The other relates to the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967. In Section 7(3) the words "sold in market overt or" shall be omitted. The words which are to be taken out of the previous legislation have become unnecessary. I beg to move.
