'(2) The members referred to in sub-paragraph (1) (a) and (b) of this paragraph do not include any member or a relevant council who is disqualified for being appointed as or being a member of the police authority under paragraph 12A of this Schedule.'.

'12A. Without prejudice to paragraphs 11 and 12 of this Schedule, a member of a relevant council shall be disqualified for being appointed as or being a member of a police authority under paragraph 2 of this Schedule if he was elected for an electoral division or ward wholly within the metropolitan police district.'.
