My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 1. I should also like to speak to Amendments Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Amendment No. 1 is simply a drafting correction and Amendments Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6 take account of the protocol that excludes Switzerland from the EEA agreement and allows for late membership by Liechtenstein. Amendment No. 5 deals with a privilege amendment. I beg to move.

3Clause 6, page 3, line 46, at end insert 'as adjusted by the Protocol signed at Brussels on 17th March 1993.'.

4Page 4, line 3, at end insert— '(2) References in this Act to the date on which the Agreement comes into force are references to the date on which (in accordance with the Protocol signed at Brussels on 17th March 1993) it comes into force otherwise than as regards Liechtenstein.'.

5Clause 7, page 4. line 6, leave out subsection (2)

6In the Title, at end insert 'as adjusted by the Protocol signed at Brussels on 17th March 1993.'
