HL Deb 08 July 1993 vol 547 cc1510-1

3.38 p.m.

Lord Hesketh

My Lords, we have passed the 30th minute. We are now in the 31st minute and I shall proceed with the Business Statement.

At a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m. my noble and learned friend Lord Fraser of Carmyllie will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement that is to be made in another place on local government in Scotland.

It may be for the convenience of the House to know that the Committee stage of the National Lottery etc. Bill will be adjourned at about 7 p.m. for about one hour and that during this adjournment the order of commitment to the Sexual Offences Bill will be discharged and the Second Reading and remaining stages of the Representation of the People Bill will be taken.

Finally, I know that many of your Lordships are interested in the prospective dates of the Summer Recess. I am not yet in a position to announce those dates. However, it may be of assistance to the House to know that it is expected that the House will be sitting during the week beginning 26th July but I hope that at about that time a balmy breeze is beginning to proceed over the Chamber of your Lordships' House.
