HL Deb 30 January 1991 vol 525 cc787-8

8.33 p.m.

Lord Belstead rose to move, That the draft order laid before the House on 22nd January be approved. [8th Report from the Joint Committee].

The noble Lord said: My Lords, as a result of the changes proposed in the order to which your Lordships have just agreed, there are amendments of a purely consequential nature and concern. They are not made, as I understand it, under the Northern Ireland Act 1974 and therefore technically speaking have to be the subject of another order. It is an entirely technical order which consists only of technical consequential amendments of changes to legislation as a result of the order which we have just agreed. I beg to move.

Moved, That the draft order laid before the House on 22nd January be approved. [8th Report from the Joint Committee]. —(Lord Belstead.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at twenty-six minutes before nine o'clock.
