The Chairman of Committees

My Lords, these are two Bills that are both waiting to go before a Select Committee. The effect of the Motion is to carry over petitions that have already been deposited against them. I beg to move the fourth Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved, That any petitions relating to the Bills presented in the present Session shall stand referred to the Select Committees on the Bills in the next Session;

That no petitioners shall be heard before the Select Committees on the Bills, unless their petition has been presented within the time limited within the present Session or deposited pursuant to paragraph (b) of Standing Order 109 relating to Private Business;

That in relation to the Bill, Standing Order 110 relating to Private Business shall have effect as if the words "under Standing Order 109" were omitted.—(The Chairman of Committees.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and it was ordered that a Message be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
