§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
§ Lord Cledwyn of PenrhosMy Lords, before the noble Earl resumes his seat this may be an appropriate moment to ask him why, on this first day of the sitting of Parliament after the long Recess, television is not present? A number of noble Lords have drawn my attention to this matter. Perhaps the noble Earl can help us.
Earl FerrersMy Lords, I anticipated many questions but not that one. I cannot tell the noble Lord what the answer is.
§ Lord Stoddart of SwindonMy Lords, now that television has gained admission to the House of Commons, is it not correct to say that the electronic media no longer thinks that this House counts?
Earl FerrersMy Lords, we are getting slightly off beam. There is no Question before the House. Though this is a fascinating subject I think we are out of order.
