HL Deb 01 February 1990 vol 515 c420

3.33 p.m.

Lord Denham

My Lords, at a convenient moment after 3.30 this afternoon, my noble friend Lord Arran will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement that is to be made in another place on Mr. Colin Wallace.

It may be for the convenience of the House to know that the Committee stage of the Courts and Legal Services Bill will be adjourned at about 7 p.m. for about one hour and that during that adjournment the Code of Practice Trade Union Ballots on Industrial Actionand the Employment Protection (Variation of Limits) (No. 2) Order 1989 will be taken.

With the leave of the House, I should also like to confirm that, subject to the progress of business, it is intended that the Easter Recess should be taken in the week before Easter rather than afterwards, as is the normal practice. It is hoped that that will be more convenient for Members of the House since Easter is relatively late this year. It may also be for the convenience of noble Lords to know that it is expected that the House will return on Wednesday, 18th April.
