HL Deb 17 October 1989 vol 511 c786

Read a third time.

Clause 25[Provisions as to use of electrical energy]:

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare) moved the following amendment: Page 13, line 12, after ("and") insert ("return").

The noble Lord said: This is a drafting amendment to make good an inadvertent omission of the word "return" before the word "circuits". This subsection gives the Secretary of State power to make regulations covering the overhead equipment and it should read: the return circuits of the Metro system. The return circuit is through the running rails and is not part of the overhead equipment. I beg to move.

On Question, amendment agreed to.

On Question, Bill passed, and returned to the Commons with amendments.
