Lord Fraser of Carmyllie

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 264 to 268.

In speaking to these amendments, I speak also to Amendment No. 493. These amendments relate to the provisions in Clause 150 to deal with precommencement cases. Some of the amendments which we have discussed make substantive changes to certain of the provisions listed in Clause 155.

For the purposes of Clause 150 it is necessary to preserve the effect of those provisions in the form in which they appeared in the Bill as first published. The simplest and most straightforward way of doing this is to reproduce the effect of the relevant original provisions in a schedule. That is what these amendments do.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments. —(Lord Fraser of Carmyllie.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
