HL Deb 08 November 1989 vol 512 c857

288 Schedule 2, page 77, line 31, leave out 'Part III' and insert `this Act'.

289 Page 77, line 40, leave out 'this Part' and insert 'Part III of this Act'.

The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 288 and 289 en bloc. I should like to speak also to Amendments Nos. 332, 334, 335, 342, 344 and 345. These are drafting amendments designed to remove ambiguity that has emerged on consideration of the existing draft. They do not change the effect of the provisions referred to. For example, Amendment No. 289 makes it clear that the reference to "Part" in paragraph 4 of Schedule 2 is to Part III of the Act and not to Part I of Schedule 2. That is just an example of the sort of amendments that we are here dealing with.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments. —(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
