§ The Lord ChancellorMy Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 274 and 275.
Amendment No. 274 would extend to Scotland those additional provisions which were inserted by earlier amendments and which were desired for Scotland to which I referred earlier. The effect of the clause as amended will be to extend to Scotland those provisions for regulating and reviewing day care services, reciprocal adoption arrangements, private fostering and minor consequential amendments.
Amendment No. 275 is largely a technical necessity to extend certain provisions of the Bill to Northern Ireland. It must also extend provisions in the Bill which amend, repeal or save provisions in other enactments which already extend to Northern Ireland. Otherwise the amendments repealing or saving would have no effect in that jurisdiction.
§ Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments. —(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
