97 Clause 41, page 49, line 39, after 'tried' insert 'an information laid'.

98 Page 50, line 4, after 'information' insert 'laid'.

Lord Trefgarne

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 97 and 98.

The amendments bring the period in Clause 41, within which prosecution in England and Wales of a person who has committed an offence under Part II of the Bill must take place, into line with the standard provisions on time limits for the prosecution of offences.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments. —(Lord Trefgarne.)

Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran

My Lords, if the amendments bring English law into line with Scottish law, we are on safe ground.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
