§ 20 Clause 6, page 6, line 20, leave out 'of this Act' and insert `above'.
§ Lord ReayMy Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 20. In speaking to this amendment, I shall also speak to Amendment No. 24.
These are purely technical drafting amendments, Clauses 6 and 7 contain cross-references to earlier clauses —Clause 1(2) and Clause 5(7). By changing the cross-references from "of this Act" to "above" we are bringing them into line with the style adopted in the rest of the Bill and most other legislation. I commend the amendments to the House.
§ Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendment —(Lord Reay.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
§ The Deputy SpeakerMy Lords, the question is that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments 21 to 23.
§ Lord NorthfieldMy Lords, they have not been moved.
§ The Deputy SpeakerMy Lords, I am putting the amendments en bloc.
§ Lord NorthfieldMy Lords, someone has to move that we agree with the Commons.
§ Lord HeskethMy Lords, I think that I can resolve the problem. I believe that a document appeared today from the Public Bill Office, which I have not seen, which has that form of words on it. Perhaps we should try to resolve that difficulty. The document says "en bloc".
§ Lord NorthfieldMy Lords, with all respect to the Deputy Speaker —
§ Lord Harris of GreenwichMy Lords, I hope that everyone will agree that someone has to move the Motion. That is what has been suggested. We do not 401 have to get into a great state about it, but someone from the Government Front Bench must move the Motion.
