HL Deb 02 November 1989 vol 512 c417

96 Clause 24, page 20, line 26, leave out subsection (7).

Lord Reay

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 96.

This amendment deletes the privilege amendment which is contained in Clause 24(7). As noble Lords will know, the privilege amendment is inserted in all Bills which commence in this House and which involve the expenditure of public money. That is so that Commons privileges are not infringed. As is standard practice, its removal is necessary in the Commons and Amendment No. 96 provides for that. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendment. —(Lord Reay.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
