§ The Lord Chancellor (Lord Mackay of Clashfern)My Lords, before the commencement of business, I take the opportunity to inform the House that I have accepted an invitation from the Inner London Magistrates' Courts Service to attend on Thursday 13th July a service of commemoration in Westminster Abbey in the gracious presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, to celebrate 100 years of the work of the Inner London Magistrates' Courts, and that I am to visit Humberside magistrates on Friday 14th July. Accordingly, I trust that the House will agree to grant me leave of absence for Thursday 13th and Friday 14th July.
