HL Deb 28 June 1988 vol 498 c1581
Lord Denham

My Lords, in moving that the House do now adjourn, I should like to thank noble Lords for their patience in staying until this late hour, and not only your Lordships but everyone else in the House; the Clerks, the staff of the Refreshment Department, the writers of the Official Report, the Doorkeepers, the custodians, the policemen and everyone else. I am sure that those words of thanks will be echoed by your Lordships. I beg to move that the House do now adjourn.

Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede

My Lords, we echo very much and associate ourselves with all the words of the noble Lord the Government Chief Whip. I would simply add that when we come to the Bill which we have just read a first time I hope that we do not go through this again.

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at thirteen minutes before nine o'clock.
