§ 7 Clause 19, page 14, line 46, after '21', insert '22'.
§ The Lord ChancellorMy Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 7. This amendment is consequential upon the introduction of a new Clause 22 at Third Reading in this House inserting the Widgery criteria on the face of the Bill in response to a request that I should do so by a number of your Lordships, including the noble and learned Lord, Lord Elwyn-Jones. At the time it was overlooked that the number should be changed and this amendment corrects that omission.
§ Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 7. (The Lord Chancellor.)
§ Lord Elwyn-JonesMy Lords, I thank the noble and learned Lord for making this addition and introducing the Widgery criteria on a firm and clear basis into the Bill.
§ The Lord ChancellorMy Lords, I am grateful to the noble and learned Lord. It is an indication that, for the most part, the elements of this Bill have been ultimately subjected to substantial agreement.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
