HL Deb 14 May 1987 vol 487 cc774-5

4 Clause 3, page 4, line 28, after "accord", insert ", or on the application of the prosecutor or of the person (or on their joint application),".

Lord Glenarthur

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 4, suggested by the Opposition in another place.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendment.—(Lord Glenarthurv.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

Lord Glenarthur

My Lords, if I am allowed so to do, I shall be happy to move Amendments Nos. 5 to 84 en bloc.

Lord Ross of Marnock

My Lords, I think that we should spend a little time on these—there are a great many. We do not want to cause any trouble to the Government Front Bench by going too quickly. Perhaps there is one amendment on which the Minister would like me to concentrate. I shall be happy to listen to his explanation of one that is not too technical.

Lord Glenarthur

My Lords, perhaps the best thing that I can do in the circumstances is to suggest that I move Amendments Nos. 5 to 57 en bloc, if that is convenient.

Lord Ross of Marnock

My Lords, I think that we could take the rest as well. I hope that the Minister will not disappoint me!
