My Lords, I beg to move the second Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved, That if a Bill in the same terms as those in which the Channel Tunnel Bill stood when it was brought to this House from the House of Commons in this Session of Parliament is brought to this House from that House in the next Session—

  1. (a) the Bill shall be deemed to have been read the first and second time and to have been reported from the Select Committee; and
  2. (b) the Standing Orders of the House applicable to the Bill, so far as complied with or dispensed with in this Session or in the Session 1985–86, shall be deemed to have been complied with or (as the case may be) dispensed with.—(Lord Brabazon of Tara.)
