HL Deb 12 May 1987 vol 487 c544
The Lord President of the Council (Viscount Whitelaw)

My Lords, before moving the first business Motion, I should point out to the House that the standing order numbers appearing on the Order Paper should be 38 and 44. I beg to move the first Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved, That Standing Order 38 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be suspended for the remainder of this Session so far as is necessary to give Her Majesty's Government power to arrange the order of business; and that Standing Order 44 (No two stages of a bill to be taken on one day) be suspended for the same period.—(Viscount Whitelaw.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
