My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

The purpose of this Motion is to refer certain amendments made by the Select Committee on the Channel Tunnel Bill to the Examiners for them to check compliance with the Standing Orders. The amendments give effect to a new route into the Cheriton terminal which has been agreed between the promoters of the Bill and the local authorities. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be referred to the Examiners in respect of Amendments Nos. 21, 24–28, 31, 42–51, 53–60 and 87 of the amendments made by the Select Committee (H.L. 136).—(The Chairman of Committees.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and it was ordered that a message be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
