§ Lord Cledwyn of PenrhosMy Lords, I feel sure that the House will allow me to say how deeply concerned and distressed we were to learn last night that the noble Viscount the Leader of the House had been taken ill. We are much relieved to learn that he is now recovering well and we hope that he will continue to make good progress. We look forward to seeing him back in his place as Leader of the House in the new year. The noble Viscount stands high in our regard and affection and we wish him and Lady Whitelaw the warmest compliments of the season.
§ The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Belstead)My Lords, I know that my noble friend the Leader of the House will be very appreciative of the words of the noble Lord, Lord Cledwyn of Penrhos, which I take as coming on behalf of all your Lordships, and I will convey the good wishes of the noble Lord and of the whole House to my noble friend.
