§ Lord GlenarthurMy Lords, I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 20. At Committee stage in another place an amendment was tabled which would have substituted "shall" for "may". This amendment achieves the same end. We believe it is entirely reasonable that a person must cease to be a member of a board when he ceases to be appropriately qualified.
