HL Deb 27 November 1986 vol 482 c644

3.23 p.m.

The Lord President of the Council (Viscount Whitelaw)

My Lords, with the leave of the House. I should like to make a short Statement on an industrial dispute at Her Majesty's Stationery Office's new printing works.

As a result of a dispute which broke out last night, the Lords Minute of Proceedings and Order Paper have not been printed. To enable the business of the House to proceed, the Order Paper and the second half of the Minute have been produced reprographically. Until the dispute is resolved they will continue to be produced in this way. I very much hope that any inconvenience to your Lordships can be kept to a minimum and that circumstances will return to normal as soon as possible.

Lord Cledwyn of Penrhos

My Lords, we are very grateful to the noble Viscount for making that Statement. We hope that the dispute will be settled quickly and amicably.
