HL Deb 30 June 1986 vol 477 c589

3.2. p.m.

Read a third time.

Lord Sandford

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill do now pass, and in doing so, I thank the small number of noble Lords who have assisted in the passage of the Bill, and particularly my noble friend on the Front Bench for the amendments that he has introduced while the Bill has been in your Lordships' House. I think particularly of the concept of an advanced general licence and a code of practice, which have produced a much fairer deal for British salvage companies operating in international waters. At the same time, they have safeguarded the concerns of the relatives of men who have gone down in their ships. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill do now pass.—(Lord Sandford.)

On Question, Bill passed, and returned to the Commons with amendments.
