§ The Report was as follows:
§ 1. Library
§ A report from the Sub-Committee for the year 1985 was laid before the Committee.
§ 2. Staff of the House
§ A report from the Sub-Committee was received.
§ The Committee agreed the Sub-Committee's recommendation for the creation of two general assistant posts in place of one clerical officer and one attendant and authorised the scale of pay proposed.
§ 3. Insurance for Lords
§ The Committee approved an increase in the personal accident insurance cover for Lords whilst on Parliamentary duty.
§ 4. Parliamentary Delegations
§ The Committee approved provision for the payment of revised subsistence allowances.
§ 5. Revised Scales of Pay
§ The Committee confirmed the application of the following Civil Service memoranda to applicable staff of the House of Lords:
- CM/722—Starting pay on transfer to a new substantive grade;
- CM/725—Restructuring of Legal Groups;
- CM/727—Unified grading at Principal level;
- CM/726—Clerical Officer scale of pay.
§ 6. Hansard Reporting Staff
§ The Committee authorised the payment of revised attendance fees for temporary reporters and transcribers and the revision of charges for agency typists,
§ 7. Uniform Allowances
§ The Committee approved a revision of the allowances paid to Clerks at the Table, the Gentleman Usher and Yeoman Usher of the Black Rod for the provision of court dress and in the uniform allowances paid to Doorkeepers.
§ 8. Doorkeepers
§ The Committee approved an application by the Civil and Public Service Association to be granted representative capacity for House of Lords Doorkeepers.
§ 9. Superannuation
§ The Committee were notified of the following awards made under the House of Lords Staff Pension Scheme:
- (a) Pension and lump sum to Mr. D. J. Huxley, MBE, M.M., Principal Doorkeeper, who retired on 17th January 1986.
- (b) Pension and lump sum to Mrs. J. M. Harris, Bar Attendant, who retired on 20th December 1985.
- (c) Preserved pension and lump sum to Mrs. F. M. Martin, Senior Clerk, who resigned on 11th November 1985.
- (d) Preserved pension and lump sum to Mr. G. C. C. Donner, Personal Assistant to the Lords of Appeal, who resigned on 15th November 1985.
- (e) Preserved pension and lump sum to Mr. T. O. Ferguson, Head Chef, who resigned on 28th February 1986.
- (f) Preserved pension and lump sum to Miss C. P. Farrell, Waitress, who resigned on 31st October 1985.
- (g) Preserved pension and lump sum to Mrs. J. E. F. Boddington, Cook, who resigned on 24th December 1985.
- (h) Widow's pension and lump sum benefit to Mrs. M. E. Fowler, valid nominee of C. F. Fowler, former Doorkeeper, who died on 8th December 1985.
- (i) Short service payment to Miss C. J. Lawton, Reporter, who resigned on 28th February 1986.
- (j) Short service payment to Mrs. J. M. Kittou, Cleaner, who resigned on 31st August 1985.
- (k) Notional transfer value in respect of Miss E. M. McInnes, Library Clerk, who transferred to the House of Commons on 1st October 1985.
- (l) Notional transfer value in respect of Mr. J. Bannister, Clerical Officer, who transferred to the Treasury on 1st October 1985.
