§ The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)My Lords, before commencement of business, I take the opportunity to inform the House that, with the approval of Her Majesty the Queen, I have accepted an invitation to deliver an address at Bonn University and to participate in a series of official engagements in Bonn on 5th, 6th and 7th May. Accordingly, I trust that the House will agree to grant me leave of absence for Tuesday, 6th May, and Wednesday, 7th May.
