§ 72B [Printed above.]
Lord Bruce of DoningtonMy Lords, I beg to move Amendment No. 72B. I should like to refer to the contributions made by the noble and learned Lord the Lord Advocate and the noble Lord, Lord Lucas of Chilworth. In the course of their speeches on these clauses they have commented on the amendments moved by me. Such was the speed at which they moved from amendment to amendment, including my own amendments, that it was impossible for me to follow through exactly what they were saying about my amendments, which time did not permit me even to trace on the Marshalled List while they were speaking. Perhaps the noble Lords will forgive me when moving this and other amendments if I require them, although I hope not at length, to repeat some of the arguments they adduced generally which I could not follow because they were moving so quickly.
§ Lord Cameron of LochbroomMy Lords, so far as this amendment is concerned, the effect of Amendment 72A is to remove the provision to which this amendment is directed.
Lord Bruce of DoningtonMy Lords, I was about to ask the leave of the House to withdraw the amendment.
§ Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
§ [Amendment No. 72BA not moved.]
