§ The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)My Lords, before the commencement of business, I take the opportunity to inform the House that I have been invited to attend a service in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen on 14th June, when she will unveil a memorial in the crypt of St. Paul's Cathedral in honour of the South Atlantic Task Force and in memory of those who lost their lives in the conflict. Accordingly, I trust that the House will agree to give me leave of absence for Friday.
