HL Deb 12 July 1985 vol 466 cc442-3

48 Clause 24, page 27, leave out lines 38 and 39.

49 Page 28, line 2, leave out ("I, II or III") and insert ("II").

Lord Belstead

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 48 and 49. These amendments are made at the request of the Isle of Jersey authorities, who do not wish to have Part I or Part III of the Bill extended to their territory. These amendments will put Jersey on exactly the same footing as Guernsey and the Isle of Man. They do not affect the operation of the Bill in the United Kingdom.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments.—(Lord Belstead.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
