The Earl of Swinton

My Lords, at a convenient moment after 3. 30 this afternoon, my noble friend Lord Trefgarne will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement that is to be made in another place on the Hong Kong Agreement.

It may also be for the convenience of the House if I announce that, subject to the progress of business, it is hoped that Parliament will be prorogued on Wednesday, 31st October. As has already been announced, the new Session will be opened by Her Majesty the Queen on Tuesday, 6th November.
