HL Deb 16 October 1984 vol 455 c971
Baroness Vickers

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many farms are owned by the Ministry of Defence; what has been the revenue from rents in the last ten years; and what was the average annual revenue in the decade prior to 1974.

Lord Trefgarne

The Ministry of Defence owns 206 farms with buildings let on full agricultural tenancies in England, Scotland and Wales. Rents received from all lettings and other use of the defence estate are credited in bulk to one vote and I regret that it is not possible to identify separately the revenue from farms.
