HL Deb 29 June 1984 vol 453 c1172

14 Clause 19, page 16, line 15, leave out. ("or, as respects Northern Ireland, £1000.")

15 line 20, leave out ("or, as respects Northern Ireland, £1,000.")

Lord Elton

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment Nos. 14 and 15. As a result of the Fines and Penalties (Northern Ireland) Order 1984, there is no need for a separate statement of maximum penalties for Northern Ireland any longer. The inflation-proofing system already in force in the rest of the country will apply there, too. The amendments simply remove the superflous words. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree wth the Commons in the said amendments.—(Lord Elton.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
