HL Deb 25 June 1984 vol 453 c626
The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. The Motion arises from a suggestion originally made by the noble Lord, Lord Reigate, which was considered by the Procedure Committee on 8th December. The Procedure Committee recommended this change in the standing order. That report of the Procedure Committee was agreed by the House on 25th January. This is therefore in effect merely a procedural Motion to put it into effect. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Standing Orders relative to public business be amended as follows:

Standing Order 41

Leave out subsection (2) and insert:— (" (2) Except in the case of Starred Questions, the period of one month shall not include any time during which the House is in Recess.")— (Lord Aberdare.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
