HL Deb 18 June 1984 vol 453 c85
Lord Denham

My Lords, on behalf of my noble friend Lord Gowrie, I beg to move that the House do now resolve itself into Committee on the said Bill.

The Deputy Speaker

The Question is that this debate be adjourned and taken later this day. As many as are of that opinion will say, "Content"?… To the contrary, "Not-Content"?… The "Contents" have it.

Lord Harris of Greenwich

My Lords, could the Chief Whip help us? Two different Questions appear to have been put. The Motion was moved by the noble Lord, Lord Denham, and apparently a different issue was put to the House a few moments ago. Perhaps the noble Lord, Lord Denham, can help us.

Lord Denham

Yes, my Lords. It has been done in a slightly different way to the way that I prognosticated, but I am assured by the Table that it has the same effect.
