§ The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)My Lords, before the commencement of business, I take the opportunity to inform the House that I have accepted an invitation from the presiding judges and the administrator of the Northern Circuit to be present to receive Her Majesty The Queen and his Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh at the royal opening of the Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts in Liverpool which will take place on Wednesday, 2nd May 1984. Accordingly, I trust that the House will agree to grant me leave of absence for Tuesday, 1st May and Wednesday, 2nd May.
