HL Deb 05 July 1983 vol 443 c508
The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I undertand that no amendments have been set down to this Bill or to the next two Bills which stand in my name on the Order Paper, and that no noble Lord has indicated a wish to move a manuscript amendment or to speak in Committee on any of these Bills. Therefore, unless any noble Lord objects, I propose to move that the Orders of Commitment of each of these Bills be discharged. I beg to move that the Order of Commitment of the Medical Bill be discharged.

Moved, That the Order of Commitment be discharged.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

Lord Elwyn-Jones

My Lords, the noble and learned Lord the Lord Chancellor yesterday explained the purport and intent of this procedure, with which the House agreed, and I agree with what is now proposed.

The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I am grateful to the noble and learned Lord, Lord Elwyn-Jones.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
