§ The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)My Lords, before the commencement of business, I take the opportunity to inform the House that I have accepted an invitation to visit the University of Leeds on Thursday, 20th May, to receive in the presence of the Chancellor, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent, the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws. This will involve my being unable to be on the Woolsack that day, and I trust that the House will agree to grant me leave of absence.
