HL Deb 29 April 1982 vol 429 c958

3.15 p.m.

The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)

My Lords, I rise to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a pure consolidation Bill. It brings together in one enactment the principal enactments relating to the British Steel Corporation: that is, the Iron and Steel Act 1975, the Iron and Steel (Amendment) Act, 1976, and the Iron and Steel Act 1981. If given a Second Reading, this Bill will be referred in the ordinary way to the Joint Committee. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read a second time. —(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read a second time, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
