§ Lord Balfour of InchryeMy Lords, I beg leave to ask a Question of which I have given private notice.
§ The Question is as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government what advice, instructions, or regulations they are giving or introducing to cover those companies or organisations who are trading or have contracts with the Argentine?
§ Lord DenhamMy Lords, with the leave of the House, my noble friend Lord Trefgarne will answer this Question in the form of a Statement at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m.
This will be followed by my noble friend Lord Gowrie repeating a Statement to be made in another place, on the political development in Northern Ireland.
§ Lord Balfour of InchryeMy Lords, may I ask the Minister one question? Do the Government anticipate that these measures will have an immediate and significant effect on the economy of the Argentine?
§ Baroness YoungMy Lords, I think that the noble Lord should ask that question after my noble friend has made the Statement that he will be making at about 3.30. That will be the appropriate time to put it.
§ Lord Jenkins of PutneyMy Lords, is the noble Baroness aware that I, too, sought to raise a private notice Question on the Falkland Islands task force and the noble Baroness has indicated that that Question was not in order? In these circumstances, I will seek to ask the Question in another way on another day.
