HL Deb 27 October 1981 vol 424 c999

103 Clause 51, page 58, line 9, leave out from ("shall") to first ("the") in line 10 and insert ("be kept at the company's registered office throughout").

104 Clause 51, page 58, line 12, leave out from ("capital") to ("creditor") in line 13 and insert ("and shall during business hours on any day during that period be open to the inspection of any member or").

Lord Lyell

My Lords, I beg to move Amendments Nos. 103 and 104 together. These two amendments relate to the requirement in Clause 51 for the inspection of the statutory declaration by the directors and also the auditors' report. Amendment No. 103 provides that they should be kept for inspection at the registered office of that company, which of course is the normal and proper place for such documents to be kept. Amendment No. 104 provides that the declaration and report should be open to the inspection of members as well as of creditors. I beg to move.

Moved. That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said amendments.—(Lord Lyell.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
