143 Clause 62, page 67, line 14, at end insert— ("(1A) In section 334, the following subsection shall be inserted after subsection (3)— (3A) An answer given by a person to a question put to him in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (3) of this section may be used in evidence against him.".").

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 143. I should like to explain also Amendment No. 212. These amendments provide that an answer given by a person to a question put to him in the course of investigations under Sections 164 to 166, 172 and 334 of the Companies Act 1948, as amended by Clause 62 of the Bill, or Section 32 of the 1967 Act, may be used in evidence against him. I beg to move.
