HL Deb 27 October 1981 vol 424 c1000

106 Clause 53 Page 59, line 36, leave out ("and by its debtors").

Lord Lyell

My Lords, this amendment seeks to remove the phrase, and by its debtors". from paragraph 2 of Clause 53, since the term, the aggregate of the amount of its assets", will already include the amounts paid by its debtors. For this reason the phrase is superfluous. It is a drafting amendment but it is one that I hope will make the Bill much clearer. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said amendment.—(Lord Lyell.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
